In addition to vegan treats, there’s also the question of how to celebrate New Year’s Eve as sustainably as possible (without losing the fun!).
Here are my personal tips:
Wax casting instead of lead castingI used to love lead casting, but now it’s banned because of the toxic fumes it can produce. That is why I take the variant with wax. To do this, light one or more slightly larger candle, wait until a little wax has melted and then pour it into a glass of cold water. Once a figure has formed, fish it out of the water and guess what it might mean. *I’m not going to tell you what’s already come out of it for me.
Fireworks: In this point, the federal government has taken the decision from us, because fireworks are banned again this year due to Corona. It is definitely a relief for the millions of animals, although it has never bothered our two huskies.
Vegan sparkling wine: Now this does not quite fall into the sustainable corner, but many do not even know that sparkling wine and wine is often not vegan. Here it is worth looking at the label or googling whether the product was actually made without animal products.
