This is precisely due to this cell wall, because the multilayer cell walls including the microfibrils spread out in the intestine like a sponge. Through this way they ensure that heavy metals are bound. This process prevents the harmful substances from re-entering the bloodstream via the intestinal mucosa.
- Chlorella algae is much richer in chlorophyll than spirulina. This also makes it a winner in cleansing the liver, blood and intestines.
